ABOUT THE RIDE

Some people would call you crazy if you told them you were going to go on a bike ride on January 1st. Others would call you a polar bear! If you don't feel like riding, come enjoy the fire and start the year off right! 25, 17 & 10 mile routes available!

This annual New Year’s Day bicycle ride is the highlight of mid-winter cycling in the north-central Indiana region since 1970! This is a rain, shine, snow, freeze event with route lengths varying with rider motivation. Even if you don't feel nuts enough to go do some winter cycling, come ride and start the year off right! Riders will receive various swag.

All cyclists are encouraged to post pictures before and after their rides on social media! Make them public and include #BABCPolarBear
