Look for our FACEBOOK EVENT for any last-minute updates or news as the event nears.

One of the Break-Away Bike Club's yearly favorites, the Sunstroke 74 is our annual July 4th ride!

Due to the cancellation of the Haynes Apperson festival and the risks of riding in large groups at this time, the annual SunStroke 74 ride will be VIRTUAL this year.

All registrants are encouraged to post pictures before and after their rides on social media (be sure to make them public) with the tag #BABCSunStroke2020.

All riders are encouraged to ride a full 74 miles or as much as they are able to on July 4th or anytime that weekend! This will obviously be a self-supported ride, so we want everyone to ride safely. Our team will have the 74 mile route we had intended to use this year available on Ride With GPS, for anyone that would like to ride unsupported that route unsupported. You can download or print out that route or select any route that is convenient or more appropriate for you. This is virtual, so you can ride anywhere or anytime that is convenient to you during that weekend.

Suggested Routes start at the Nickel Plate trailhead on the North side of Kokomo, two options are below to help avoid other riders and deviations can easily be made on county roads to avoid clustering.

Supplies may be an issue if self supported, known convenience stores are marked along the GPS file route. Note the water fountains at the Missessinewa observation dome are out of order due to Covid-19, as should your plans for a paceline be out of order for the same reason. Ride with your household members or those whose social history and exposures you actually know

Pictures and updates on social media are highly encouraged so we can show our support for you, our cycling community! Thank you all for joining us on this ride and be be safe!
